Female mc's get a ( pun intended ) bad rap these days... Thanks to the lack of females that actually get national shine and are hyper sexualized or adopt pop sensibilities. Most independent females mc's are overlooked by the general public. Most have to work twice as hard to get noticed and have even tighter lyrics. .. thankfully that isn't the case with Rochester's Golden.
A steady stream of releases ( last year's project with Kidd Called Quest "P.M.S.") features & mixtapes along with performances in the 585 area (& beyond) has kept Golden in the spotlight. And she unleashes a project that's been the making for over a year, which is well worth the wait.. Golden proves that her rhyme style isn't just one sided as she flexes over a variety of beats provided by a wave of up & coming 585 producers. This variety keeps the album fresh as well as having some fellow 585 features .. but make no mistake Golden is the star of this album as she flows over the beats & switches subjects.
Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams may take you by surprise, showcasing trunk rattling beats, catchy hooks, and dynamic lyrical content. NY native and MC Golden did her thang on this joint, check it!
