Founded in 2010 in Los Angeles, CA by Sal Amezcua, Urban Junky Clothing is a Creative Lifestyle clothing company. Sal's vision was to design clothing that represents a large variety of styles and influences, and also reflect his vision and interests. His main goal was to provide the urban/skater/hip-hop community with Exclusive clothing that was artistic and also expressed his vision. Growing up as an artist since he was in elementary school, Sal found the gateway to expressing his talents to the masses through clothing. The Uj Team now consists of 5 partners that all provide a special unique set of talents that keep the line creative and diverse. DJ Mike Sincere, George Leon, Jaime Bejar and Daniel Carrillo joined Sal and are all on the same mission. To take the clothing industry and streets by storm!
Urban Steez: Tell us your name and how you came up with the name for your accessory line?
My Name is Sal and I am the Founder/Co-Owner of Urban Junky Clothing. I came up the name Urban Junky while brainstorming, and since the line is urban casual it just had a ring to it so we stuck with it.
Urban Steez: So when and how did you get started?
Sal: I started it in 2010 and Ive been a artist since I was about 5 so I found it as a great outlet to show off my talent to the world. And with my teams skill sets, we are prepared for anything.
Urban Steez: That’s Wassup. What is the concept behind your designs?
Sal: We try to mix art with urban style and a little bit of skater flavor. A good way to reach both markets.
Urban Steez: Is there a specific group of people that you are trying to grab if so explain?
Sal: Our main demographic would be in the 16 – 25 year age groups and mostly the hip hop/skating scene but plan on releasing some real nice casual wear soon.
Urban Steez: What can we expect from your accessory line in the future?
Sal: All I can say is the sky is the limit on that one ;)
Urban Steez: Nuff said. What are your influences for your line?
Sal: Our main influence is the youth to be honest, they play a huge role in our products and what we do.
Urban Steez: What do you feel separates your line from the rest?
Sal: We have found a way to merge hip hop/art/skating all into one line which we feel is pretty unique.
Urban Steez: Give us a few fashion tips than can be useful?
Sal: Make sure to rock UJ when you go out, bound to break necks haha
Urban Steez: Lol… Give us one MAJOR fashion NO-NO?
Sal: Skinny jeans so tight that you can see abes face on a penny…
big no no
Urban Steez: Lol… Isn’t that the ugly truth!! What have you learned being an up and coming line, Good and Bad?
Sal: You have got to be extremely aggressive with promotion and marketing. And don’t give out to much free stuff lol your only hurting yourself.
Urban Steez: What is the best way to get a hold of your threads?
Sal: Right now it would be at our website www.urbanjunkyclothing.com

Urban Steez: Every Clothing line usually has a “motto” or a “saying” that represents their clothing line, what is yours?
Sal: "Its not just a brand, it’s a movement!"
Urban Steez: Any additional words you like to say to your supporters?
