Erika Santos was born and raised half of her life in the Bronx but now lives in Albany, NY. She attends graduate school at the College of Saint Rose and will be graduating this May with her Masters in Public Relations. She is 25 years old and comes from a strong Puerto Rican background. Erika works full-time for the state of NY assisting person(s) with disabilities. On top of working full-time and going to school she is a freelance writer under a code name for two well known publications and of course she models as well. Erika is determined to make the best of her modeling career and can't wait to see where it takes her and who she will meet and be able to work with in the coming future. Until then she is along for the ride in this crazy industry, working only paid assignments and networking around the clock.

Urban Steez: Tell everybody your name and where you are from?

Erika J. Santos. I am originally from the Bronx but now reside in Albany, NY.

Urban Steez: How long have you been modeling?

Erika: Almost 2 years.

Urban Steez: Did you always want to be a model or was it just something that you stumbled upon?

Erika: I never thought I could be a model, but somewhere inside of me wanted to be. To be honest I kind of fell into it.

Urban Steez: I see, lucky you! What would you say is your best feature and why?

Erika: I believe my eyes and my smile are my best features. I have always been told my eyes tell a story and my smile makes people feel good inside.

Urban Steez: What do guys say is your best feature?

Erika: They generally say the same thing I do. I get a ton of compliments towards my smile.

Urban Steez: What is your ultimate goal in life?

Erika: I am currently in graduate school studying to obtain my Masters in Public Relations. I plan on building my own PR firm in the next 10 years.

Urban Steez: That’s wassup, I likes!! What are your hobbies?

Erika: I love to read, the bookstore is my sanctuary. I go out to the movies, bowl and spend a lot of time with my family.

Urban Steez: I suck at reading, Its like I have a short tension span! I don’t think I ever finished a book in my life lol…I know its bad!! In your opinion what are the negatives and positives of modeling?

Erika: The negatives are that I don’t meet every markets standard. I am not 5’9 and bone thin. I have meat on my body and this industry can give you a complex if you are curvy. The positive side to modeling is the networking and of course paid assignments.

Urban Steez: Name one nasty habit you have without scaring the readers lol?

Erika: I bite my nails all the time.

Urban Steez: What is it with models and biting nails lol , I swear the ratio is like every 2 out of 5 lol… Moving to the next, what would it take for a guy to win your heart?

Erika: He would have to be very genuine and a true gentlemen.

Urban Steez: Righteous! Any advice you want to give to people in your position or things you may have learned in the process of becoming model?

Erika: Always have a backup plan. Don’t think just because you are pretty that you don’t have to work at things. Make sure you have your education or some sort of career just in case modeling doesn’t pan out for you.

Urban Steez: I can dig that! Any pet peeves?

Erika: I hate people who blow their nose during any meal.

Urban Steez: That’s nasty!! What music do you have that is in your sound system right now?

Erika: I am listening to Common’s new album a lot. Although, I am most likely to have reggae in my CD player.

Urban Steez: Being that your hot and you attract a lot of thirsty males, give us males ONE of your major NO NO’s?

Erika: Don’t approach me without a breath mint lol.

Urban Steez: Ha fella’s brush YOUR TEETH and scrub that toungue!! Any celebrity crushes?

Erika: I have a female celebrity crush, Salma Hayek. I think she is absolutely beautiful.
