Sonia Pagán is of Puerto Rican descent and hails from Queens, New York. Sonia is making her mark by showcasing her powerful three-octave range. A recent “SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO WINNER”, Sonia has the ability to master many musical styles such as gospel, R&B, rock & classical. She also sings these genres of music in Spanish. For as long as she can remember, Sonia has been blessing thousands of people through her awesome gift of song. From the tender age of five, Sonia has been performing in front of people at various events, talent shows and showcases. Her dad, a city employee arranged for her to perform for some of the city’s most profitable benefits. Over the years Sonia has worked with some of the industry’s most noteworthy producers and songwriters. Her list of former colleagues include: Def Jam/Def Soul- Lyor Cohen, Russel Simmons, Terror Squad- Fat Joe, Columbia- Tommy Mottola, Roney Hooks, Manuel Seal, and Rich Harrison to name a few. Sonia has been getting local radio airplay!! Tune in to the various stations to groove to her songs You and Tell Me. Feel free to check out Robert Rickenbacher’s What's Hot Radio online as well as Darnell Morris’ 90.3 FM. You can also tune into Black Rose Radio online and she will soon be the featured voice on DJ Mixxs’ show being aired in Cairo Egypt and in Bermuda. Sonia has been featured in several musical publications online and received a beautiful article in the “NEW YORK DAILY NEWS”. Sonia has performed at the “POTTER’S HOUSE” in Texas with TD Jakes in honor of Gospel legend Shirley Caesar .Sonia has a huge following as a result of touring with the Women’s Leadership Exchange; wowing the business world in conferences around the country. She has performed in Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, California, Puerto Rico and New York. Sonia is returning to the studio to record the remainder of her debut album which is certain to be a commercial success.

My name is Sonia Pagan and I represent Queens, and most of the New York area. Urban Steez: Queens is in the building… So, how long have you been doing music and what made you get into music? Sonia: Well, I can remember singing for family and friends since I was 4 years old. Urban Steez: How would you describe your style and why? Sonia: My style is R&B and Latin fused together. Very Soulful Urban Steez: I like the sound of that… If you had to pick which label to be signed to what would it be and why? Sonia: I would certainly entertain a deal from any of the major labels, but it would be my job to make an impact after signing. Urban Steez: Who would you want to collaborate with in the music industry and why? Sonia: Great question. I would love to collaborate with so many of the great artist. If I had to make a choice right now it would be Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder just to name a few . Urban Steez: That’s wassup!! What have you experienced good and bad on your road to musical success? Sonia: Honestly, all the experiences just make you stronger. This is a business of peaks and valley’s. I am grateful for everything big and small. Urban Steez: I agree its all apart of what makes you stronger. Who are your influences? Sonia: Some of my musical influences are the great Celia Cruz, Whitney Houston, Ella Fitzgerald, and countless others. Urban Steez: Wow that tough to beat, you named all legends. Where do you see yourself a year from now? Sonia: In a year from now I see myself as one of the biggest selling artist of the decade. Urban Steez: I seen you “turn out” the Apollo, you was on there for like how many weeks? How was that experience? Sonia: I was on the show for two weeks. It was a truly gratifying experience. Ray Chew and the band were great to work with. The audience really showed some big time love for me. Urban Steez: Well you definitely can sing even the great fans of Apollo approved! What are you working on now and when can fans expect to hear more from you? Sonia: I am writing new material for my new album. Its something really special this time out. I will keep everyone updated as to when I will drop my next lp. Urban Steez: Sounds good.What do you think of the hip hop/ music world right now? Sonia: Hip-hop music is in a good place.Hip-hop keeps evolving and the music is now on a global stage so there is no turning back. Urban Steez: What do you think you bring to the music game as far as your music is concerned? Sonia: I think I bring a soulfulness that has not been heard from a Latin artist in quite some time. Urban Steez: Yea we need some more Latin to bless the music scene.. What music do you have playing in your sound system right now? Sonia: In my player I am listening to some Flo-Rida, Mary J. and Keri Hilson . Urban Steez: Niiiice! Who is your celebrity crush? Sonia: I don’t have one. Urban Steez: Suuuure, whatever you say!
